Emerson Layne

Emerson was born on Thursday, September 24. Because my past history is of VERY fast labors my Midwife decided it was best if I came in and had my water broken. I was conflicted with this but when my labor lasted something around an hour it turned out to be the best thing. I think it was more like 40 minutes or so. I would have for sure had a baby on the highway or at home... and I needed to push at an 8. Needless to say I was happy to have been at the hospital. I was able to go natural again and I didn't have to have an I.V. this time either. The less needle sticks in me the better.

We got to the hospital at 9:30. I wanted to take the kids to school first. We ended up hanging out for almost two hours because my Midwife was called away for a family emergency.

Cody actually got to be a part of this birth experience. Because of the quickness the nurse wasn't in the room yet for this birth and Cody was having to help take the bed apart, grab the table for the midwife and he actually got to be a coach.

It's a good thing I didn't deliver her less than 40 weeks because she would have been a lot smaller. Garrett had the same stats at 37 weeks.

    Wow! Another one without any pain meds! That's incredible! Congratulations guys! So glad everything worked out beautifully! I think that you must have set some sort of record for your time in labor! She is beautiful! Let us know if you need anything!

    Congratulations!!! Can you just imagine the story if you weren't at the hospital already??? Cody would have done the WHOLE delivery! :) She is beautiful and I can't wait to see her. I'm sure you are handling three beautifully as well :) Call me if you get frazzled :) Love ya!!!
