Mom of The Year!

Today I got to clean throw-up out of a car seat!
Whoo Hoo!
The Joys of Motherhood!
We were in the car headed to church and then...all over her beautiful Kate Mack fur coat! It is clean and beautiful again and little miss A is feeling much better too!

Oh! and at dinner she sneezed a raisin out of her nose. I didn't even know one was stuck in there!

Last Thursday I made a last minute appointment to get Ansley's ears checked out. They had been red at her 15 month appointment two weeks before. Since I was going to work Market Friday and Saturday and it was the weekend I decided to take her in just to be safe. You know stuff always goes down on the weekends when your stuck calling the advice nurse or hitting up Care Now. Anyways, I picked Garrett up from school and he starts crying on the way to Dr. D's and basically starts foaming at the mouth (lot's of drool). I am thinking "great throw up in my new car"!!! He wouldn't tell me anything except one time he said his mouth hurt. He has said this before and thrown up. We get to the doctor and Ansley acts like a perfect child while Garrett is just falling apart. You would have thought I had made the appointment for him.
The nurses ask me what is wrong with him and I say I don't know he has been fine all day and just started freaking out in the car. They take his temp. Meanwhile I have been saying "stop drooling, quit crying" to him because he was making this big scene...a very insensitive mom. Ends up he has a low grade fever and they do a Strep test because I had told them about his mouth hurting. Oh it's positive! So my son has strep and my daughter has an ear infection. A twofer! I am sure to be getting the second bill for Garrett in the mail soon for the other copay I didn't know I was going to be paying.
He has been fine ever since. I never would have known anything was wrong with him had he not had his out of the blue melt down. His throat looked terrible like he had been in pain for days. I also felt a little bad because the nurses were being so super nice and I was basically saying "dry it up!" That was before I knew he was sick. He walked out of the office like a healthy kid.

Mom of The Year right here!!!

  1. Poor G...when Jack got strep, he kept saying his tongue hurt. Christine felt so bad when he was diagnosed with strep. Isn't is sad they really can't describe it! I am so happy Miss Thang is better. And no more puking in the car! Miss you bunches! Hugs!

  2. I totally have you beat. When Jessica was 3 she tripped over a pillow in our living room while running around with a friend. She cried a lot an said her arm hurt but it didn't seem all that bad to me. Two days later, yes TWO! her elbow swells up like an orange and Heather Breeding & Kelly Christian say they think I should take her to see a dr. Really! ya think! :-) It turns out that her arm is BROKEN. I felt like the worst mom EVER until the physician's assistant who saw her that day confided that she had done the exact same thing with her child and she is a medical professional. You gotta be tough to survive in the Muller household.
